What is “Wellness” Care? Why do people DO that?
Do you have to get adjusted forever? No. Nobody “has to” get adjusted. We are free to choose health or disease. Everyone’s life is better because they are healthier if they do it. In life, nothing stays the same. You are either getting sicker or healthier, there’s no staying the same.

If you want to be healthy and able to run or play pickleball into your 70s or 80s and not taking medication, this is something you do. If some want to take medications and give up all their fun, that’s a choice too. But, it’s not an inevitable age process, it’s a choice. That choice was made years or decades before diagnosis and medication became necessary.
“Healthy” means different things to everyone. I can give you the World Health Organization’s definition as I’ve memorized it and repeated at workshops hundreds of times. “Health is the body functioning at 100% of its potential, not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.” Clunky, but accurate.
In order to keep functioning at 100%, the system the runs all the functions must be kept free of interference. Interference to the nervous system can be caused by physical, chemical or emotional stressors. They are happening all the time. As long as you’re alive, gravity is pulling you down. Your boss or spouse or parent or kid or girlfriend or boyfriend or a deadline or vacation or house purchase or a new baby or a cigarette or a few drinks or a Krispy Kreme or a car accident or a slip on the ice or a crummy mattress or a workout at the gym or …..
All of those things plus more, are injurious to the way your body works. For most part, it adapts, but some stresses are too much and can’t adapt and that’s why an adjustment is necessary. Adjustments help your body adapt again. Making you function better and therefore healthier. How often you should be checked is the only question. The earlier you start, the less often you need to be checked. The later you start, more often is typical.
I’ve heard this before too, “How long do I have to keep coming?”. You can quit today if you want. People who want to be healthy do this throughout their lives. Everyone must decide for themselves. But for those that want to be healthy, maintenance care or more accurately, wellness care (‘wellness’ because nothing stays the same as ‘maintenance’ implies), does that.
There’s no replacement. Not massage, acupuncture, exercise or eating well. I’ve been doing so for 30 years. That’s about 1,500 checkups/adjustments give or take. The people I know who are healthy, do this too. The people I know who are going to doctor visits to diagnose and medicate this or that, who must be careful what they eat, or what activities they can do, or can’t go for a run or even a walk, I’ve noticed they do not get adjusted regularly.
It’s pretty simple and we make it easy so you can get in, get checked and get back to the life you want to live. And we love working with people who share our passion for living healthy. It’s been a pleasure and gift to work with so many over the last 33 years. Babies I’ve cared for have babies of their own. I’m blessed to be part of your lives.
