Olympic Memories

Many of you know I was a team doctor for athletes at the Olympics in 2012. It was a great experience. But, it's not my passion. My passion is caring for families and kids. Keeping a child out of the clinic because of ear infections is far more rewarding than working with gold medal athletes. Working with octogenarians is far more rewarding if they can go camping with their grand kids. That's what drives me.

Helping people be what they want to be and who they were meant to be.

You can't be who you want to be with nerve interference and subluxated spines. You can't be who you want to be if you are in and out of the clinic and seeing doctors, changing medications until you feel reasonable. You can't be who you want to be if you are taking your kids in to the doctor because they are sick and missing school. And they certainly will not be who they are destined to be.

We all have incredible potential. We have all we have when we are conceived. We have less as time and traumas take their toll. Expression of that potential is how we make our mark on the world. It's how we relate to one another. it's how we create. It's how we achieve. It's how we succeed.

Expression of that intelligent potential that lives inside of us happens as our nervous system adapts and responds to our environment. It will do better with clean food and rest. It can't do it with interference to the nervous system. That's when we have less expression of potential and less expression of life. The potential is still there inside of us. But, if it's not being expressed, and nobody gets to see it. It doesn't matter what is potential or impossible. It's not happening with interference. It MAY happen if interference is removed. But it won't until that happens.

If you have kids, you understand expression of potential is life. We grow into the people we are as we experience the world around us. It is simply sensing and responding to the people and stimuli in our environment that shapes us as we grow into the human beings with whatever gifts we have.

It is super important for kids to get checked and make sure their nervous system works as they grow. Otherwise, they are not sensing the world around them properly and as a result aren't' going to respond and grow correctly. That means in sports, school, relationships, and friendships. All aspects are affected by being sick.

Some of you may recall a note I wrote after the Batman Theater shooting. I simply said that the guy who did the shooting was messed up and couldn't sense the world around him properly and responded as if it were a threat when it wasn't. That's because something is wrong in his nervous system. I wrote at the time, that if only someone had taken him to the chiropractor when he was a child to correct the nervous system interference, he likely would not have gotten such a bizarre view of the world. He likely would not have viewed the people in the theater as a threat. He likely would not have shot up the place.

That email was forwarded by someone in our office around the internet and went viral as they say. It still lives on the Skeptical Raptor site, under the title "One good chiropractor and an X-ray could have prevented the Batman shooting." Which, is exactly what I wrote. Happy they understood it. Maybe someday they will come to know it's true.

I envision a world where kids get checked routinely, starting from minutes after birth and throughout their growing years. So much disease would be gone.

I imagine a world where we only use the Emergency Room for our medical care. There would be no "routine" clinic visits, because we wouldn't be sick all the time and taking multiple medications. We would need to be seen on an urgent basis only for getting hit by a bus or something. Accidents will still happen no matter how healthy you are. Thank God there IS medical care for emergencies. That system is second to none in the world.

Walk in clinics are a different matter. The majority of what we spend our money on in what we call "healthcare" is for chronic disease though, not accidents or injuries. . 40% of kids have at least one chronic disease now. The average 65 year old takes 15 prescriptions per year. Whatever we are doing right now, is terribly wrong. We are getting sicker for doing it this way. And we are going broke doing it. Our governor just had to step in to stop medical bills from being reported to credit agencies because it has gotten that bad. We are THAT sick and now THAT broke.

Let's change this. Start with the kids. Please, get your kids checked to make sure they have a properly functioning nervous system. It's not a huge sacrifice to carve time out of soccer or basketball to make sure they stay healthy. The families that don't do this spend much more time doctoring and trying to determine which medication is better for their kids.

"But, it's not covered by insurance." True story. Good food, good health cost a little money. The real cost of not getting your kids checked isn't so much the wallet at first, because the early signs of disease medical treatments are usually covered by health plans. Think ear infections. The medical care for this is totally unnecessary and wrong (because it doesn't correct the problem and makes the child sicker), antibiotics all the way up to tubes in the ears, but it's fully covered by insurance so no parent has to pay. I'm certain if parents had to pay out of pocket for tubes in the ears, no child would have them. Not just ear infections. There's too many examples of this to list.

The fact that medical treatment is covered is almost unfortunate because to some degree the fact that it is, makes it seem normal for parents to have sick kids. And, they continue to have sick kids because sick has become normalized by the mere fact that 3rd party payor pays the medical system to treat your kids. The system is set up to collect and distribute money to employ people within the medical system itself. It is not set up to get anyone out of the system. As such, the kids are just fodder for the system. The system has no ability to get the kids healthy. Sick is not normal. Normal is healthy. Sick is abnormal. Medications don't get you unsick or certainly not healthy. Again, healthy is normal. Sick is abnormal. It's common, but abnormal

If you've been in the system you know after awhile, as they get sicker, you are exposed to more and more of the cost of the health crisis. Not to mention the cost in WAY more time in medical clinics and WAY more expense for medications. More importantly, add in the real cost of them not becoming whomever they were destined to be because, their potential is still locked up inside. Never expressing to the outside world. Uknown to them and unknown to us. Your child could be a concert pianist, a leader of the free world or the best mom on the planet in the future, but because she grew up with migraines treated with medications rather than corrected, she isn't going to be a great mom, a pianist or the president. She is going to be walking around miserable every day, buying the giant bottle of ibuprofen at Sam's Club. She will be kind of a snot to her spouse and kids because her head hurts all the time and has her whole life and she knows nothing different. It is her normal. It is unfortunate. Because no one told her about the Batman movie email.

Please forward this one to any skeptics you know.
