“I thought my back would be all scrunched!”
That’s today’s quote and a frequent epiphany that people have once they start getting adjusted. That quote is from a gentleman in his 70s who worked outside extensively this weekend. Before coming here, his experience would be his back would hurt and he’d be limited for days. Any activity higher than normal resulted in back pain and misery. And, with just a couple months of visits, he now acts like he’s 10 years younger with the ability to do things without pain that he hasn’t been able to do in years.
Why? He is in his 70s and everyone has pain. Well, I’m 62 and I don’t. With rare, rare exception, I don’t hurt. Anywhere. I DID have a swollen knee two weeks ago. But I know how to mitigate it and turn it back around in a couple of days.
I have Lyme, which many do. I’ve had it for over a year and am trying to determine how to avoid that as this was the first time I’ve had that. Most people with Lyme Disease have all kinds of problems. Knee pain being the most common.
And why don’t people “heal” from Lyme? Because the infecting spirochete, a special kind of not-really-bacteria and not-really-virus, has a life cycle stage that includes a cyst or dormant phase. In that phase, there is no signal to the immune system to kill it. And no antibiotics are effective. Like infectious mononucleosis, the “kissing disease” you remember from your teen years, that sits dormant in the system too. Also chickenpox… a herpes virus, remains. Very few people seroconvert to a point they no longer have these in their systems.
The idea is to be as resilient and healthy as you can so you can do the things you want to do. Be the grandma to your grandkids and take them on trips and to the park or wherever. Be the grandpa who plays ball with the grandkids, not the old guy on the couch.
The way you do that is to make sure your healing is on. Nerves run healing so getting adjusted regularly keeps healing at maximum.
Next, you don’t bog down your healing with crummy foods like simple carbs and junk foods.
Also, you must sleep. Burning the candle at both ends doesn’t allow for optimal healing either.
It’s really quite simple. The sooner you start, the better it is and easier it gets.
Get your Power Turned On.
